Computers of the same 'level' or 'peers' are networked together to share resources.

What this means that each computer on the network can share resources like printers, modems and storage with other computers on the same network. Peer to peer networking does not require a dedicated server to provide shared resources and allows individual computers to determine what resources can be shared.
