The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is located in the Middle East and covers an area
of approximately 2,240.000 square kilometers (slightly less than one-fourth the size of
the U.S.). It is bounded by the Red Sea to the West and by the Arabian Gulf, Qatar, the
United Arab Emirates, and Oman to the East. Jordan, Iraq, and Kuwait are to the North and
the Republic of Yemen is to the South of the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia covers about 80% of the
Arabian Peninsula, which lies at the crossroads of three continents: Asia, Africa, and
Europe.
