ANI - AUTOMATIC NUMBER IDENTIFICATION

These units are add-on modules for virtually any portable or mobile radio which allow a base station dispatcher to identify the person with whom he is speaking by reading a decoder/display or computer screen which shows the ID number of the radio that is calling, eliminating the need for verbal identification.

A printer could be connected to the decoder unit or computer to print a record of all communications including to the ID number of the radio, the date and time of the conversation.

The identification number of the radio could be sent to the base at the moment when the conversation begins (the PTT is pressed) or when the communication is terminated (the PTT is released).

ANI units are available in different tone formats such as DTMF, 5/6 tone sequential GE STAR or digital.
